Yeah, I know, but it's not like I want to know something, I just want to be able to make some cool things, practice on making some stuff. I want tutorials for that, not a manual. Why is everyone always refering to a manual? I don't get it. |

Not to be a smart ass, really. But the manual has a lot of useful information that you won't find in any tutorial. I think that is why he mentioned that. If you know the tools and how they work then when you do find some tut's it will all make much more sense...

I hope that's just what he ment, but he could have said it like that. I've always hated replies like RTFM!!! If I asked for something thats in the manual, ok. But I just asked for some tutorials. Didn't want to start a war.... |

relax dude. Fig has no reason to make any accusations like you are thinking. You asked a question, he made a suggestion, please take it at face value.

Boy, people are offended easily in here... ;) I was in a bit of a rush when I posted before, but i'll elaborate a bit. ESPECIALLY if you just got a program the first thing you should do is read the manuals and do all the tutorials. There's so much horrible 3D work out there by people that simply push buttons, and when you say "I want to know how it all works" then the only really reasonable answer is to do the basic tutorials that are aimed at showing you how the program works. The first thing you do is learn to ride the skateboard, then you learn how to do tricks. The tutorials on places like 3D Cafe are generally the tricks, you do those first then you're just pushing buttons. If you don't have the manuals than that's an entire different issue onto itself and I'd be a bit bothered that you're even asking for help in the first place... Chris |

Yeah, maybe I was overreacting :D I have a very weak mind :'( :D I'm sorry. As I said, the program is not mine, it belongs to a friend of mine. He's learning himself and he doesn't feel like giving me the manual. It's not that I have the program myself (I'm seventeen, can't afford those rediculous!!!! prices). Just because he's doing all that cool 3d stuff, I wanted to learn something as well. So some realy basic tuts would still be nice :D:D PS- No offence to anyone :D |

check my footer , go to 3D apps, i have some good links, some for 3DMax and others. I'm pretty new to 3D, so I've just started collecting links for my site, will add more as I get into the program. If you have links, email 'em to me. I'm glad my office, has the progam, and gives me time on the job to work with it, for their graphic design. It is very expensive, and hard to learn, but I guess I will have to get into it and find out. out>>>> Rogue |
