I have a question. I just started using flash. I'm reading a book on action script and overall animation. I was wondering: Is there anyway to import a vector graphic into flash so it stays a vector graphic. From illustatror possibly? Thanks |

Flash is vector. So it imports graphics from other vector programs very easily. Look at File --> import and see the whole list of possible formats you can import, 2 of which are Illustrator .eps and .ai

Marble, I've tryed to import from illustrator, but Flash says it has a hard time reading it. I've tried illustartor 9.0 and 10.0 CE. What should I do? Thanks for replying. |

illlustrator and flash don't play nicely together. your best bet is to use the swf export from illustrator and import that into flash. the best possible option is to create your vector graphics in freehand and bring them straight into flash as symbols. i've never gotten into freehand tho, personal preference leads me back to illustrator. chris |

copy and paste from illustrator to flash works fine normally. If you're using illustrator 10, save the file as illustrator 8 or 9 and try to open in flash. Or you could always take a screen grab and within flash, trace around it. It might take some time but then you'd have it 100% flash. |
