Okay just got the free version of maya since some people said they use a 3D program to make that stuff (like Malevolent_Jester) so I thought I'd get one. Where can I get some tutorials on this stuff?

http://www.google.com/search?q=maya+tutorials&sourceid=opera&num=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 Before you ask a question about anything computer related on the internet, search for the answer on google first. 9/10 times, you will find the answer yourself. |

Well not that many people use Maya here that I know of. Other than just playing around occasionally. You should find some good links on google though. Maybe search for Maya Forums as well, to see if you can find a forum on the topic.

It doesn't take a "graphic pro" to know how to search for a tutorial. If you are so unfamiliar with Photoshop, 3D modeling programs and general computer use, here is a suggestion. Go to your local library or bookstore and start doing some reading. Start off with some design fundamentals, colour theory and what not. Next, read your program manuals. They will teach you the basics of how the programs work. Learn your tools and what each one does. If you don't know the basic functions of the tools you have, there is no way you'll be doing 3D work or even the simplest Photoshop tutorials. Then start playing with each one till you are confident you can handle each one adequately. Then I would go here --->http://www.teamphotoshop.com/ and start looking at the basic tutorials. After working through these, you should be getting close to mastering the basics. I would also consider taking a course if at all possible. Hands on training with someone to show you the ropes is invalueable. There is absolutely no way you will learn anything if you have to keep asking about basic operations. However, once you are comfortable with PS, then the questions you ask here will speed up your progress, and more then likely will help others in the same spot you are in. A lot of your questions have been on the same level as "How do I turn my computer on?". Pretty soon you will end up losing credibility because everyone will be holding your hand through everything, and you may find no one responding to your queries. Spend a day or two practicing, not a day or two posting. ![]() |

Deker is right. You know, after going to a porn site, the site edited my registry files so that whenever I rightclicked in IE, the menu would have an option that read ">>>FREE PORN GALLERIES<<<" . I ran the risk of getting htat caught by my mom or brother for like almost a month - till I actually decided to Google it and I found out how to fix it. Silly me!

Learnign 3D after 2D is like jumping off a cliff. Enjoy trying to start with Maya, because i've been using it for a few months now and still am nowhere near 'almost knowing it'. I use Cinema 4D by the way, great little app which is simple to use and kicks Maya's crappy renderer's ass.
