Rather than focus on ImageReady, find what kind of site you want to make, ie. the look, the style, etc. Then create your site with some kind of goal in mind - look for tutorials, find sites you like and can get inspiration from, etc. Once it is all created then you can slice it up in IR. Image Ready is not what you need.... =)
