OK, I don't know jack about the pen tool. I've created some shapes (text) and I don't know how to fill the outline with color, or anyting else. So can anyone tell me how to do this?? Also, what is the pen tool usually used for? Thanks in advance ![]() |

Pentool is used for shapes that can't be achieved in an other way. When you've made as shape you can edit>stroke it, or right click on it and 'make section'. You'll have to practie alot using the pentool to master it.

The pen tool is used to create mathematically perfect edges and shapes. These "vectors" are resolution independant. There are a lot of ways that these are useful - either for clipping out part of an image or layer... or as re-ditable shapes - which can then have any content. The key to understanding the pen tool is in the word "Precision"
