"could not use airbrush because the content of the layer is not directly editable"

im tryign to follow the tutorial of how to make the metal circle but when i get to the airbrush bit it says
"could not use airbrush because the content of the layer is not directly editable"

Why is this??

and also, edit -> fill doesnt work because it doesnt come up with the fill option

im going to die this is soo stressful

it should work if you render the layer. just try

well, i have a german version of photoshop, but there must be option at the menu->layer->render->(text/form/layer...)

...and dont forget to select the layer you want to edit :D

Try changing the image mode to RGB or CMYK color. In "Image > Mode > RGB/CMYK color

I think I would rasterize the layer (right click layer--> rasterize). Certain things (e.g. text) needs to be rasterized before u can do certains edits... But when u rasterize there are certain things (e.g. font) u can't edit anymore. This would also explain why it does work after using a filter: when u use a filter on a non-rasterized layer, it asks to rasterize... and when u press "yes" it is rasterized ;)
