I know you can splice up a picture to give each section
different optimizations, for export into a table.

But, can you splice it up, JUST to get the optimization and export it as ONE single picture with different optimization levels intact.

I doubt it, but I want to import into Flash w/o re organizing all the slices.

it shouldnt be hard. As far as I know, when you cut it up, it goes by the settings you set. In the tool pallete (cant remember which one) you should be able to select gif for one part, and jpg for another then export the html. couldnt hurt to try, but im not 100% sure about it.

If you've got an image sliced up into 10 parts and you optimize it. It's optimized into 10 parts. You still have to put it back together since its been taken apart.

Your best bet if you want it one image is the save for web. Optimize it there and then export to flash. But if you have to have it cut up then you'll have to do all the putting back together..
