Image Access from hard drive

Just upgraded from Elements 8 to 9 and can no longer double click on an image on my hard drive to have that open automatically in E9 for editing. Instead I get a message: M: photo image on hard drive 1234.jpg is not a valid win 32 application.
Does anyone know why this is and how to change it?

Sure. When I reviewed my folders on an external hard drive, i could select one by double clicking on it and it would open automatically in elements 8. The same would happen if i right clicked and chode OPEN IN PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 8. However, since upgrading to Elements 9 this does not happen. I get a message stating this hpeg is not a valid win 32 application.

try getting info on E9 and select all documents to open using E9 (using the extention you are having trouble with)
