Making MAC and PC site colors the same

I did a site where the blues and oranges I used ended up looking gray and yellow on the PC. Is there anyway to stop this from happening? Is there a way on the MAC that I can see exactly how it will show up on a PC or a way to fix it so that what I see on the mac is the same for PC? I know about the preview option already and already have changed the gamma.

Make sure not to use a platform specific color model?Use the Web or 256 pallet?

anyone else think of anything?
