Hi guys, I'm a complete newbie to Photoshop and have encountered a bit of a problem and was wondering if you could help.

I'm using Photoshop CS4 Extended Edition, and when I come to open images, they are displayed like so:
http://img72.imageshack.us/my.php?image=86828965pb2.jpg

The file should look like this:
http://img341.imageshack.us/my.php?image=41863905ix6.jpg

This also happens if I open a new file and just start doodling - those weird lines appear.

This happens with all images and does not happen in any other program

I would really appreciate if anyone could help.

Many thanks.

Hi bbcuk,

I had the exact same problem.

I solved the issue by disabling OpenGL Drawing. That can be done by following these steps:

1) Go to 'Edit' -> 'Preferences' -> 'Performance'
2) Deselect 'Enable OpenGL Drawing' and click 'OK'.
3) Close and reopen Photoshop

Hope it helps.

Best regards,
Anders Riis

Thanks Anders! I tried doing that, saw it didn't work, so I enabled it without restarting. Upon reading this I realized I didn't restart Photoshop after disabling it, and upon doing so I was met with success.

Its a shame that we can't take advantage of our graphics cards, though. Too bad :(

Water pipes

I am thinking about buying some wholesale water pipes from this company in China http://www.liangdianup.com/tobacciana_z.htm
but I am not sure if they are legal to bring in to the states? What are the laws on water pipes, bongs, and pipes?

Now that is a lot of brass air fittings http://www.liangdianup.com/subpages/airfitting_1.htm there is just about every type
of air fitting that you could want. Wholesale prices too. I guess these could be used as small water pipe fitting also. I
used some of the parts to make my babington wvo burner.
