open your image

select with the rectangle selection tool the area that will be under water

duplicate the layer

on layer 2 apply the "ripple" filter (check out some settings till you get what you want)

not invert the selection (ctr+shift+I) and delete

invert selection back to where it was (ctr+shift+I)

Now you have a picture with part of it rippled

make a new layer

on the new layer get your gradient too.....use the preset gradient in the options pallet "copper"

and drag from one side of your selection to the other
this will fill your selection with a nasty copper colored gradient.

on the layers pallet change the opacity of your gradient layer to like 20% (play around with it you might like another percentage better)

now go to image/adjust/hue and saturation tomake your water color more water like

the numbers I used are (with colorize checked)

Hue = 219
saturation = 25
lightness = 0

Flatten image ...TahDah!....you are done!

hope this helps

Ebonics is not derogatory......at least not in NW Iowa,...but then again, we are a few years behind on that kinda' stuff.
