how to scale without quality loss?

Hello guys,

i scanned a photo, then edited and scaled it with photoshop .
but it lost quality after scaling.

You can't scale an image 'larger' without loosing image quality... it's just the nature of the beast.

Only way to get more image quality is to scan at a higher dpi.

What did you scan it at?

If it's just for viewing on monitors, 72dpi is fine. If it's for printing you'll want to scan higher; 300dpi is best. If you want to scan a 5x7 (for example), edit it in Shop, scale the size twice as big and print out... then you'll need to scan at 600dpi.
