Hi, This is my first post..and Im sure an easy reply for anyone BUT me haha Im putting together a small application/website, and trying to have the text "Desire" or "Drive" to appear on top of a gradiant rounded rectangle. I can make the text and rounded rectangle with whatever color (Im not THAT new haha) But for some reason I cant seem to make the rectangle gradiant, the only thing I can do with gradiant is make the background gradiant. quick fix? thanks in advance |

I don't see myself as very experienced and I think I can answer so you're probably right :D . When you use the gradient tool it doesn't look at what you already have: it just aplies to everything; to avoid this you must only select your rectangle (my favourite tool for this is "magic wand"). Something else you can do is right-click the layer in the layer-window and pick "blending-options". There is a gradient option over there as well...

Ok, I've went with the blending options method by right clicking the layer. Im able to work with the gradient here, use the pre selected foreground/background colors, but I cant seem tyo figure out how to make the gradiant go horizontal, right no its vertcal, the colors are stacked on top of each other. Again, it's probably super simple, but how do I make it do side to side, instead of up and down? |

When you click "gradient" in "blending options" it shows the gradient-options. There should be some circle with a line to the middle. You can turn around this line to edit the angle. You can also insert a value for the angle: it probably says 90° while you want 0° or 180° ...
