Hey all, new to the forum here and hope to be around a bunch more! My first question involves photo borders. I am trying to find some masks similar to those found here: http://www.graphicauthority.com/products/extreme-edges-1and2.htm especially under where it says "Thumbnails and Examples Vol Film Effects" (I will post the picture below.) I am wanting that uncropped film effect with the dirty edges. Problem is, being a poor starving college student I can't really afford to spend $40 on a package of photo borders. Seems like the internet should contain what I want but I'm having trouble finding any places that provide cool borders for free. Does anyone know of a resource or does anyone have any similar non-commercial masks they would be willing to share? |

Dont pay for any of those / waste your time looking for free ones. Make your own! Seriously, most of those are 2 minutes worth of work. On a black background, draw a white rectangle (slightly smaller than the document). Then just erase or paint over the edges of the rectangle. You can use photoshop's brushes, or download some for free. You now have yourself a mask. If it's easier to work black on white (like the image shown) just invert it. Be sure to invert it again when you go to use it. Just an example I messed with (link active for a couple days) : Mask |
