Hello, I'm curious about Dual-channel displacement maps. Its a bit confusing because I don't know how to apply them. When I use grayscale displacement maps, I save it as a psd. and the apply it via the displace filter. How do I apply a dual-channel map? Do I save the Red (right to left) and Green (up to down) as separate .psd and then apply them or is there some other way? Any advice is appreciated... Regards Fess |

In fact, they need to be in the same file, you could even have a third channel, but it won't be used. you just need to point to the psd file and it'll distort the base image accordingly. Tech-slop, the best page about displace is currently down, in the mean time, check out http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorials/photoshop/displace1.html and http://www.adobeevangelists.com/pdfs/photoshop/neworupdatedfor6PS6/DisplaceFilter.pdf |
