Newbie needs help on image editing

Well, thanx a lot for that. Didn't have to adjust the yellow/blue color balance at all though since the snow usually is kind of blueish and I wanted to stick to the original dia as much as possible. But apart from that the pic turned out looking great, just the way I wanted it to be.

Just the kind of help I needed to get going. Didn't really know were to start at first so all your tips have been great.
