I need help with a picture

I need a picture of a gun to put into a picture im going to make. How do i take just the gun, not the background, into the other picture i have already made? whatever i do it seems to take the background with it, which i cant use.

You could either move the entire gun layer, then erase the background, or you could use one of the selection tools to select the gun, then copy/paste that to the other image you want to use the image in.
