Photoshop Disappears!

Photoshop loads, then disappears. Not in the task manager, or anything. ARH.

Here is something I read about how to fix that problem:

Iits a copy and paste, I normally dont use obnoxious amounts of caps....)

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM IS START PHOTOSHOP 7 UP AND WHILE IT IS LOADING HOLD DOWN CTRL, ALT, AND SHIFT AT THE SAME TIME WHILE THE PROGRAM LOADS. THIS CLEARS THE SETTINGS FILE. IT WILL ASK YOU IF YOU WANT TO DELETE THE FILE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. AGREE AND YOU'RE ALL SET! HOPE THIS HELPS. IT'S THAT EASY.

I installed it 3 times. I am using XP.

The problem, according to what I read, is that there is a settings file somewhere outside of the PS folder that is corrupted. You can either track it down, or use the easy method above, which is a shortcut for refreshing that file.
