Layer mask?

Quick question, i have made a 3-d object using auto-desk inventor and i inserted it into a photoshop document. I want to texture the image with like a mask. So it looks like the image is made out of something, how would i go about doing this?

i guess you can just have the texture positioned on the area you want to add it to and just skew it manually with free transform. Then just cut out the parts that overflow from the area.
