How can I create a glass effect. I want to create a transparent jar or softdrink bottle?

Well...
It's pretty hard to give you exact steps, it depends so much on what kind of glass and what the surroundings are.

Just make a few new layers with different opacities, and put reflections on the surface, you know?

take a look at some bottle/jar and see how light reflects on it.. then make the same relfections/shades/ on photoshop
