colors in ps6

Ok, I'm having this problem...

When I'm drawing something in Photoshop 6, the colors look perfectly fine.
But, after I save it, and open my saved picture in a browser, the colors look different. I did a test, and just filled a small picture with a lightish blue, and showed up darker, almost purple in the browser?!

Please help..

nah... I'm just picking a good color that I like. Would that be my problem?
Why doesn't it show the same color on the browser as it does on the program?

I don't know all the technical mumbo jumbo on why some colors change on the web, however, your default color palette in PS6 are websafe colors. I hate to be restricted to certain colors, but sometimes I must use a parallel color from the palette for web graphics. Hope this helps!

change your color profile to "none" in your pref's...

I couldn't find a "color profile" in preferences... what section of the preferences is it in? I'm using 6.0
