How to create RayofLight2?

I have photoshop 5.5 and I was wondering how I could create RayofLight2 with it? I don't understand ho wto do it with the tutorial on rainworld. If the only way of doing it is with photoshop 6, then how can I get than version?

You can get the Photoshop 6 upgrade from any Staples, Office Max, Best Buy, or similar stores. But you could probably find it cheaper online, and if you are a student, you can get it from JourneyEd.com for probably like 25-75% off.

Not legally....
and we don't discuss illegal stuff on here.

Ray of light:
I'll just bet, a talented paintbrush and/or airbrush could do it in ANY version of Photoshop. ;)

*edit*
I forgot to mention....the original "ray of light" tut was for v. 5.5
