Okay, your command of Flash is impressive. I like the overall look of the site. Especially the splash page. It's clean, simple, and sweet. But the site itself has lots of problems. First I think there's way too much movement. It's not obvious when the intro is done playing since the background is always sliding around and there's so much animation. It takes away from your composition a lot. I'm sorry, but you have to include a button to turn off the music that's playing. It's cool and mellow and digital.... but it doesn't change. And besides lots of people surf the web while listening to their own music and it's kind of rude to force them to listen to something that they can't shut off without closing the site. Trust me, you'll lose visitors that way. The scrollbars are not that friendly. It's a cool effect but it keeps the user guessing where the scroll window is going to end since it decellerates like that. If you're gonna use the effect, I'd make it happen A LOT faster and not as much. Do you really need that clock? It looks like it's there just to fill space so I'd get rid of it. Also you might consider slowing down the rotation of the "A" Also if you're serious about marketing your services, the text could use better writing. Right now it sounds really fluffy. I'm not meaning to be harsh, I'm just trying to offer constructive feedback. You obviously have the skills, you just need to work on the presentation. I think you could have a really kick-ass site that soars above all the rest if you remember that "Less is More" Good Luck! |

i dont like it. i'll keep my opinion short... had time to read the whole of Odies post while it loaded... when it had finally loaded, i clicked 'web & graphics' and it took about 30 seconds just to tel me the images were yours, then after waiting another 30 seconds nothing happened, so i closed the site... dunno if you're just showcasing your layout without content, but things need to speeded up i think, atm it reminds me of a free layout from flashkit.com do you really need it to popup in a new window? |

Hey thanks for the feedback with the first post. I'm working on things now. With the second reply, sorry that you don't like it, I personally don't like your site as well, anyways, i'm making things faster to load, and no I don't use cheesy templates from flashkit, I make them myself.

i apologise if i sound a bit snappy, i'm really very ill, heres my opinions put constructively... - i think it should be in the centre of a html page rather than a popup - the sections of the bg that flicker white need some accompanied things (like some flickering binary text or lines etc) - the flow between when you click a link and when you see the content should be quicker, like sliding doors (maybe a shhhc noise :D ) apologies again, never had tonsilitis before and its got really bad, empty |

I think you are trying too much. I actually created a very similar site to yours before the one i have now (http://cyblingdesign.com) and after a few month of having it, i decided itr was cheesey. You know a lot about actionscripting, we can see that, but its the design that's making you slip. Your font is unnatractive and titles on the buttons aren't very professional. It seems to me as though you've used www.2advanced.com as a very prominant inspiration, so did i, but the thing you have in the middle with the flashing sections of a roof or something, is way too obvious, i didn't actually know you were highlighting those tiles for a while. It's a good site, but soon you will realise that less is more...you need to pay attention to detail, and not necessarily only animation. Have fun too

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. I'm still reworking some ideas as well with changing some things around that people have told me about, and what I should approve upon. I'll be updating as I go along.

I think your site is just fine. As far as the gripe of too much animation, you don't have THAT much to warrant a problem in my opinion. You DO have a button to shut the music down as well. The navigation is simple and direct, a feature that more Flash sites should take notice of. Lastly, I don't think it's a big crime to be heavily influenced by Eric Jordan's 2advanced site. The work he does is simply incredible and always an inspiration. Just my two cents.......
