1. Maybe the text shouldn't contrast too much with the banner. Instead of inverting the colors, try playing around with colors that will make it match with the surrounding banner.

re-think the colors. these colors do not go together well. you should be thinking of navigation and content at the same time you are thinking about headers and backgrounds. integrate them into your design now, not later.
