yeah sure you can add my link, that woudl be cool -- and fig how did u get it down to that size??? im not the best at optimizing but i try and keep the quality

just saved for web in photoshop as a jpg, about 55 quality with 0.1 blur.

with this type of image (few different color ranges, lots of subtle shifts/gradients/shadows) jpg is your best bet because a gif would have to include too many colors to show all the color shifts smoothly and be a decent file size. if you've got an image that's mainly one or two colors or has large blocks of color or a lot of text then gif might be a better solution. hope that helps.
