Well, after a long siesta, the pig refuge site got dusted off and completed. This is just the template, the site developer is going to cold-fusion-ize the site.

Safeharbour Pig Refuge

::edit:: revised site--
Pig site #2

I think I incorporated most of the suggestions from last time... last chance to critique (in your usual constructive way).

Look at the little pig in the lifesaver.... Hee hee.

Looks good to me. Seems the same as it was a long time ago.

When I look at the site in IE it looked a little like poo. There were gaps between all the images on the right. Perhaps if I had refreshed it would have lined up. It looked better in Opera though. Hooray for Opera!

Thanks outbreak! Holiday fun.

Dek: what version of IE--I validated with 5.0? I believe there's a little glitch with Netscape.... I should have tested Opera before posting (knowing full well you and 1 other person in the world would be using it). Only real diff in site is I lost the clip art for guestbook and email and updated the nav so the developer could modify it in html.

Uhm.... 5.5 I think. I would open it back up and look again, but it would probably crash my computer since I already have photoshop open.

Don't knock Opera man. It's sweet. Have you even used it? It has so many great features.... Makes me feel fuzzy just talking about it.

Looks fine in IE 6.

I'm not that crazy about the mass amount of glow around the letters. But the design, overall, is nice. I'd also add some CSS to remove the link underlines, but thats just me.

The pig in the lifesaver is funny.

edit: The blank button on the end near the pig, doesn't load for me on NS 4.7 Just a blank space (no broken image or anything)

Ok site. Could use some work.

Comments/Suggestions
*I don't like the colors you use for your bgs; it just doesn't look right to me.
*TOO much outer glow on text. You can have another unique effect that will produce great results.
*No underline with links.
*The one box on the far right needs to have a   ; (remove the space bfore the ;). Then, it will show in Netscrap navigator.
*Keep the pig. I love it.

Wow... thanks guys for all the comments! Here's an update using CSS to get rid of underlines... thanks for the help Deker!

Pig site #2

I don't like the glow either; I knew none of you would like the glow... however, of the five options I showed the customer, this was the one they loved. I know, I know; I never should have presented this one, eh? Background and header color are carry-overs from the current site--project directive.

tsg: would you mind p.m.'ing or emailing me the syntax for the line of code that needs the extraneous ";" added? I'm gonna download NS4.7 onto this box to play with it. Thanks!

Dan's bit-o-advice for the day: I worked on this project to help a friend out with a charity (no money). But if any of you do any work for a church or charity and want to donate your time, have them do what Safe Harbour did for me: have them give you a receipt for 'x' hours @ 'x' rate for time donated, and you get a nice little tax write off. Please consult your tax accountant for advice, I accept no responsibility for any audits you incur!
