new design site

hey everyone, im working on a new design for my personal page, could you take a look at what ive got so far and let me know what you think? good, bad, and helpful

I like the colors.

If it was me, I would rethink the rectangular image at the top. Maybe just make it a nice simplistic logo without all that other stuff in there.

i was thinking that too, but then it becomes very boring...i dont know what to do

anybody else? i would really appreciate some input, im stumped haha

too plain and too much space unused...

im at 1024, what do u think i can do to livin it up, i really cant think of anything, but like that type of design...

I don't like the box at the top. And not because of the box itself, per se, but because of whats in it.

You have 5 different objects in there.

You have an atom syombol-thing
some (what it apears to be) some scratchy random texture
the header of the page
some text
and some spike tentacles.


Ok. do ANY of these things have ANYTHING in common? Hell no. While they, seperatly, might look nice. What it apears to look like is that you grabed some random images and through them together.
I dunno, i think its the spiky things that did me in. Just so 'gee lets do this because its cool' sort of feel to it

well the spikey tentacles things were supposed to go along with the DNA double helix, cuz i was going for that "outbreak" kinda theme, haha hence the name -- but if it looks unrelated then i def agree with u on getting rid of em -- i only added em cuz it looked soooooo plain, but ill see what i can do to fix it up a bit and post back soon, thanks a lot

Make it more obvious, if you wish to keep it. Use it all over the site, not just on a lil box on time. The more you can tie it into the site the less it looks out of place.

BTW now that you mention it, it does look like a DNA strain. It just looks so small on my screen its hard to tell thats what it is. It does more a bit more sense, sure. Just make it REALLY obvious.
