A site for a client, a freight and liner agency. It's not done yet, only two navigationbuttons are up:
http://www.jonhs.com/clients/tavatur

What kind of feeling do you get?
To which direction should I take it from here?

its not bad so far, simple and to the point.. could be a bit too much empty space but perhpas wheny our done adding the nav buttons it will feel more full.

as for where to take it, make sure browse the web and see what sites with similar content look like and how they go about things.

anyway good start for now

the site structure is nice and sound, but the imagery in the header gives me a fishing feel. when i don't see a boat in context, i automatically think fishing (unless it's like a yact/scooner).

unfortunately, i don't really know how to make a boat look like a freight / liner in action. :(

The current header image is what the client wanted, as the same image is in their company prints.

My first suggestion for the feel of the site was this image:

that's undrstandable. limitiations like that take the fun out of design sometimes. it's looking good beyond that.

Yah, maybe it could be a bit darker...

Btw, do you see the different types of white and black in this pic?
