I would say Purple 5, but I think there's a little something missing from all of them. a certain Je ne sais quoi :S

I like 4 better... and I think "Je sais quoi" - a pic! anything with more than 2 colors in it

I prefer #4 over the rest...bit more to it than the others.
Maybe you could incorporate some white into #4 somewhere else? or in addition? whatever is good is good.

I like 1 and 2. (2 if you dont want the "sharp" contrast created by the white bar).

The others......well feel kinda soft (< helpful description...i know) . They don't seem to pack a puch like the first two do. Also with the first two, the layout seems to "own" the content. Where as on a white bg, the content seems seperate from the layout.

cause those are my favorites =)

I was just gonna say that if the top in #5 and the bottom in #2 went together it would be tight.
