new layout

tell me what u think of my new (yet unfinished) layout.
never mind the gap on the right it is for 800x600 purposes.

I'd like some honest and well explained critiques so I can change this design for the better.

Nice layout man! really different from the normal layout.
i think it would look really cool... but your main problem would be where to put text...........

well, there's not a lot of information for me to put on the site so, there shouldn't b a text problem
it's just a site to showcase my workz...

I love that mirror effect. I like the part where the ribbon would be mirrored, yet it's not. That is really cool. I truly would not change anything about it.

But I don't know about the "Form Above Function" thing. If you don't worry about function, then you will have problems.

well, the only thing i mean by form above function is that this site is created for its form because it's a showcase site.
form above function doesn't mean that there will be no function but it just emphasizes the importance of the visuals on the site.
once it's finished it'll be a fully functioning site.

i like it alot, i even knew where the nav area was heh...that's gonna be gool when it's finished.
