Retro feeling

Well as I'm soon to start my studies I'm going to reform my site completely.
Anyhow I've put up a new temp page there. I have made a retro feeling
layout, based on the awesome oldsk00l game Super Mario World!

That is awesome dude... did you make all that yourself or did you get it from screenshots or something? Either way its awesome. I love it.

My only suggestions would be to make the background go all the way across (horizontally) or something... Other than that I think it looks really cool. You have inspired me to make something along theses lines

It's been done before and a lot better. You have to start thinking about how your layout is going to look like in a browser way before you even start slicing it up. Remember, the whole browser window is your canvas, not just the Photoshop window. ;)

I used a sprite-set. Anyhow it looked good in Mozilla and Ie, don't have accsess to opera atm. It looks a little ****ed when in higher resolution, but I made the site to fit in 1024x768 explorer window.

As I said it's a temp site I made in a couple of hours with boredom.

i think this is a straight up mario rip and for a portfolio site or whatever this is going to be you need to come up woth something a little more original.
