Please bear in mind this is the first site I have ever started to put together, and im looking to develop and enhance it as much as possible. It will basically be a portfolio and offer some resources.

This is the basic design ive come up with, its not optimised to well at the moment so please beware of large file sizes!

I know its fairly basic but im looking to expand as much as possible

Any comments, suggestions, pointers, hint, or encouragement is greatly appreciated!

You have a cool color sheme going but you screwed up on the navigation. The placement is fine but the color and the rollover is way ugly. And the 10pt Verdana is tedious to read in large amounts. Try a larger Arial.

I'd change the light blue to white. That's really all that's wrong with it.

Yeah I agree with random... change all of the light blue stuff to white and it will look really good. I like it

thanks for the replies and pointers, as i said tits the first attempt at putting anythng together and was just to really show the "feel" i was going for.
Im not going to make it final until i know its 100% decent!.
