Get your bg's from www.k10k.net, there are some high quality ones there.

Get the chick out of there.

Find some better colors. *cough*

Un-center the text and take off AA so you can see what it will actually look like on the web.

Add navigation elements.

Its a start... the woman sorta takes up all the focus though... and no menu...

i know..... so your saying..

1) make the woman smaller?
2) Get a different background colour? Get a different Background?
3) Better Content System
4) better Content

Make it skinner - for 800x600 users. Change the background. Make the header more interesting. Add navigation.

Bascically - figure out what youre going to put on the site, and design for that. Not the other way around.

The girl look nice. But she's too big. It'll take forever to load for the poor dialup people. Lose the bold, and change the background that has the dots. It looks like the background took over the whole webpage if you know what i'm saying. Overall I like the style, clean and simple.
