pixelpeddler digital library

This is a project that I started a while ago - didn't get to it...

It is supposed to be a digital picture library - innitially it was intended to be in english only but then I realised Romania had no such site so I decided to make it in romanian. It will have an english version also....

the old version - which I started coding and php-ing is here

however I will not go along with that one - I made a better one (I hope) - you can see a mockup here

don't mind the banner - it's just a placeholder - the site is going to be huge (couple of thousands of photos so far) and I will need some way to pay for the hosting - all images are (or will be) free - also layered psd layouts, transparent pngs, vector files... tutorials - which I have but a few so far....

the background will be the user's choice - the tiles left bottom...

Thats awesome man... there is like a little gap at the top of the page, might wanna fix that... but other then that I think it looks amazing. Nice work as usual man :D

I'll fix the gap - it's just a mockup anyway - on the real thing there will be no gap

i like the colours (theyre a little different from what you normally see), i like the logo, the build-up of everything, the fact that you will be able to change bg (if i understand everything right ) ..

great job .. looks like its another photo site i have to sign up for o_o

I like the second one, it's got a nice 3jorn look to the edges. I always loved that (pssst...how do you do it?).

But conversly, it's hard for your eye to focus on anything in the second one. Try to give some welcome text more emphasis or something like that.

There isn't much I would change on that layout...
Maybe but a shadow on the side of the layout so it goes more "in" to the background.
...and the second one is much better...The first one was a bit empty.
Can't wait to see it up and running!

I thought about doing a shadow but it won't look good with all the backrounds.
As a matter of fact 3jorn was an inspiration for this I really like your site man. Maybe you'll add pixelpeddler to your worthy sites links if it goes well...
