It's a keeper. I definitely like it. It almost looks like it was done in a 3D prog. I think if you could bevel the edges of that grey part that it would look like it was holding that green ball. And if you could make it chromy.......mmmmmmm........ I was never really much for the furturistic-looking stuff, but that sure would be spiffy. |

heres the tutorial torn. (for ps6) 3 layers : glow, grid, bg 1. make a black background 2. make a grid pattern, preferably on a transparent bg so that when you fill another layer you just have the black grid. 3. check the preserve transparency box and fill it bright green or whatever color you want. turn off preserve transparency. 4. filter> noise> add noise ( play around with the settings, I think I used 100-150 ish..) 5. image> adjust> brightness/contrast (play around with the settings I think I use -50 brightness/contrast 0 ) 6. create a new layer, fill it with the same black grid pattern, change the blending mode to screen. 7. go to the layer effects window, outer glow, blend mode screen, opacity 60%, noise 0%, color bright green, technique softer, spread 6, size 8, under the quality portion, use the half round contour. you should now have the base glowing grid.. to get the same effect as on the sphere image: merge the grid and glow layer temporarily then copy the merged layer and move it to a new document, past on a new layer, add a layer mask, then with the default colors (b&w) goto filter> render> clouds. then I adjusted the levels to get the desired effect. hope this isn't too confusing torn. lemme know if their is any thing else you need. forgot to put this in the tut, but once you get through making the glow, drop the layer opacity to 50% Snore |
