This is my first site. That should explain the simplicity of it, but i also want to be continually challenged, so i'll keep working on new layouts.

As for now, here's what i have. An iframe on a Google ripped image.

Not a bad start. I am going to comment, that if you are using phpBB 2.0.5 you should upgrade to 2.0.6.

Thinking up content is rather..tedious. Now i need to actually start learning photoshop so that i can put some images in a portfolio.

Couple things:

I like the layout, just change the font in the frame. Also, the whole google ripped image thing...
Not a good idea. I know there's no like, copyright issues, but still. When you're pimping out your skills as a designer, it's a good idea to use your designs. (and/or pictures) Personally, I think the pic is great, but it's not yours.

I know that if I was the photographer, I'd be pissed.

I got it from a site that was giving stock photos away. The photographer said use it all you want, as long as it's not used commercially.

Thanks, i'll work on the font.

Now that you mention it, i need a font size that's smaller than 2, and bigger than 1. Any help on how i could go about doing such a thing?

I got it from a site that was giving stock photos away. The photographer said use it all you want, as long as it's not used commercially.

Even still, if you're wanting to showcase your skills, dont' use images that you, or anyone else related to the site, haven't made. It's just a professionalism issue. The other thing, however is that you can use several stock photos, making them virtually indistinguishable from the original images. That makes the images a piece of artwork, rather than a direct copy of what the original was.
