Grunge Rust!!!!

I never really liked the grunge thing, but I like this image. Reminds me of the old days. Back when computer games were actually entertaining. Kinda' looks like a screenshot from Myst. I'm sure some of you older folks remember this game. You youngin's probably haven't even heard of it.

Im 16 and I heard of it. I think it sucked, sorry.

Myst kicks a$$!!

I am kind of fond of the grungy stuff. I like this a lot. Just out of curiosity, how many different image layers did you use? Also, how do you get the faded/scratched look? I see it often but havn't seen a tut. on it.

I want to learn how to get this effect.

What version of Myst did you play? I don't remember anything in Myst being dark and grungy. Other than that one island with the water pipes. There were some crazy voodoo huts on that one.

I like your grungy image. As far as grungy images go, it's very grungilific.

*PS- Myst, Riven, Beyond Time, The Crystal Key.....all great games, no violence and more importantly, they make you use your brain....not your trigger finger!

I didn't mean that the grunge part of it looked like Myst. It was more the dark color, the pipe, and the old letter.

Oh, well that makes more sense then. I liked Myst when I played it the first time. I think I was like 12 or something. Now it seems kinda silly though. Slide show with some completely out of place puzzles. There are lots of games where you have to think that aren't Myst like. Like Grim Fandango, all of the Monkey Island games, any Real Time Strategy game (to some degree).... and on and on. I guess this isn't the proper site to discuss violence in video games, so I won't start in on that one.

Monkey Island! I loved and still love that game.

We had the original on our old 486 (wow). And I bought the newest one because I had spare cash. That new one is really tricky. I don't know how many times I had to go back and start all over again because I forgot something.
