I have a new site I made for my 11 year old and would appreciate any comments or opinions about it.

I have been messing around with transparent png files so the site looks best with Netscape 7 as ie aparently does not support transparent png files as table bacgrounds. If anyone has gotten them to work this way I'd like to know about it.

Thanks, Steve

Looks good except for the grid background which makes it really hard to read. and the scroller is no good. especially being on the left side. Why not just make it a normal html page and let everyone scroll normally? really no reason to have that fancy scroller script on there.

yeah i agree with deker about the scrolling. Also you should center the whole site and maybe valign it in the middle of the page. It just looks a bit funny stuck in the lefthand corner. I'm viewing it at 1280*1024 resolution, try looking at it on that and you'll see what i mean.

1. yes the grid does take away from the feel of the site.
2. the scroll bar works but is backwards ...the uparrow makes it go down and downarrow makes it go up

yeah I didnt even know there was a scroller til someone said something. Not only is it on the left(an unspoken web faux pas)but is made up of rather obscure, unstandoutish arrows. Then I realized that it was backwards.

I wonder how many other people might feel the same way....

Other than that interesting color scheme, and the grungy, dirt bike appeal should work just fine for the intended audience.

i agree plus the scroll goes too slow. If you must have the grid have it a grid ontop of a solid color with a 1 pixel border of some kind. But looks great.
