I made a layout for a client - he's got a thing that locks car engines - an anti-theft device - Please comment on it splash page - the client insisted I am not particularly a fan of splash pages just for the heck of it - if it has no info it does not belong there but hey "the customer's always right" - Right?? this is a content page - at least you gotta love the car |

Yeah, putting a viper on any layout makes it great. :D j/k Well... the "R LockVision" logo thingie seems a bit cheesy, but then again, suits the purpose I guess. And maybe that's their logo, so you had to use it? Otherwise I think everything fits pretty well, gives that "racing" feel, and oozes of testosterone, which is a good thing in this case. :D I'd say, nice job. |

the logo is indeed theirs - "I'm sorry ma' - they made me do it - I swears" they have a print logo which is ughhhh - you don't want to go there - and they had me add some colors and stuff to make it = - I qote - "more internet-worthy" - they stopped at this one after several (a lot actually) variants - they went with the most flamboyant....figures - also they wanted me to add a "target" thing under the R part of the logo... - I fought it with all my strength... |

Yeah i think they should look into you making them a new logo that ones rather crappy, but i think the layout is pretty good, i like the viper and the simplicity of the site, keeps it professional, but still stylish... Its pretty good :D |

site looks good, i would crop and center the splash..... as for the product, its not very well known so wouldn't theves would still break in to the car (causing damage) THEN find out they can't start it... hrm.. just a thought for your client as a persective customer (although its prolly more expensive than what my car is worth)

well - oranjcrush - the pages will be centered -as for the device itself it costs some 400$ - as far as I can understand (some pretty technical stuff there) - the idea is that a thief would like to steal the car not cause unnecessary damage lol - the good thing about this device is that it can be triggered via an ordinary cell phone - combined with the remote-like thingy - so even if you're in the car and a robber would stick a knife to your throat and force you to descend and leave him the car - you can do so and then use your phone - or someone else's and lock the car engine and doors before he's traveled 100 yards.. then nicely announce the police you've captured a car thief and collect the reward if there's any - of course this only works if you have bullet proof windows but hey - at least you get your car back... too bad about the logo - yeah tell me about it - well - perhaps I'll show the client this thread and perhaps he'll change his mind ... |
