Designers that visit this site will see this as optimal. Anything smaller is just no fun.

Chillax there buddy, no way 1280x1024 is "optimal". 158kb for one whole image as the site is completely absurd and a very small percentage of people use that res.

The moving text on the left is extremely annoying and the low quality images doesn't help that one bit.

Your works are no doubt pretty nice and your resume is fairly extensive, but, with that much experience, I have to say I expect more. :(

If anything, get rid of the Flash or tone it down because it can be done without. Slice up the entire image so that you can save each section as an individual image, therefore improving the quality and retaining the size.

The main text body should be text, not part of the image. If you MUST have the text within the image, turn off the anti-aliasing so it looks a bit more readable.

For the works links (gray boxes), either label them, add an ALT tag on the images, or replace them with thumbnails.

I have spent quite a bit of time in print and haven't had the assignments to build complete sites. I mainly design and pre-flight for print. Your points are very valid and all of the fixes will be in place shortly. Clients that come to the site to view my previous work should have an easy time of it. You have made me rethink my entire approach.

Yeah I have been working on a massive monitor with the res very high. kinda ignorrant, I know.

thanks

thanks again. I really don't know why I built it that way or so big. and I even get lost checking the document links cause I dont have labels on them. maybe thumbnails next time.
