I use opera for everything. Mainly because it doesn't take 45 seconds to open up like IE. And it would not be hard to make your layout work with opera. You're just being lazy. It's not like it's hard to make a site look the same in all the browsers. Unless you are using a bunch of javascript junk.

Does preloading 128 images count as bunch of javascript junk? :\ Cuz aside from that, there isn't any javascript stuff... Could it be the layer stuff.?

most likely it's the absolute positioning you are using. I always just find a way to align things to the left, and it works fine.

Also, why don't you use html, body, header or any other kind of tags? setting the padding of your body tag to 0 also. I think opera uses padding to put the space around the page, so if you set margin and padding both to 0, it should align ok. Or, you could put in html header and body tags and use this for your body tag and it would probably look ok. < body leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" > |

Since I started off working with HTML code using Angelfire as my webhost, I avoided the html, body, and other codes because Angelfire (and the rest of the Lycos network) searches files for those entries and places ads that way. I just tended to leave them out and it's a habit now. :p Hmm, I added the padding: 0px thing now, but I need to go get Opera to see the difference... Hmm hope it's free. |

Well no wonder your sites don't look good in anything other than IE.. you're not even using the most basic HTML syntax.

Mmm, I cleaned up the code and now it looks like it should now in Opera 7.01b.

Yup, looks fine. See, now that wasn't so hard, was it? Most sites could work in every browser with just a few minutes of actually trying to make it work rather than just saying **** anyone that doesn't use IE.
