my friend wanted me to make a site for his band..

It has potential. IMO the pixel font doesn't match. the lines and little grid stuff on the nav don't go well either. maybe use parts of the bg image and manip yourself a nice graphic instead of it making the whole thing so busy, causing you to use those dreaded outer glows. also the scan line stuff, and the little grids on the top could do without, IMO. yep keep at it, nice start

yeah i dont like the font that much, and the background is very very busy, i think it can still work though and the ? in "are you in?" i super difficult to see i noticed it after looking 3 times... i think a font change would make it nice.

I agree with the text issue... it doesnt match... and im not sure how easy its going to be to make that site work with that background... put i hope you have fun doing it :D
