Windows help pleeeeease?

Hi -

I'm using Win2000 pro - and I'm having trouble with something... When using the Windows Explorer, my icons are really, really slow to load, or to classify a file type. Typically more than a minute to load an icon to a file. Otherwise, I have a bunch of generic windows icons for all my psd's or .tiff's, for example.

Whatever application that is responsible for matching up icons with files is screwed. Thus, when I'm trying to view, or manage files in any way - prior to the icon loading, I get the wonderful 'Cannot delete ______ because it is in use by another application' error. (I get that one like 3456.53 times a day).

Anyone know what application or control panel option controls what icon gets set to files? Anybody else ever encountered this problem?

You could try rebuilding the icon cache using tweakui ??

Thanks Pank - but I fixed it. I'm a bonehead.

Under controlpanels/ folder options, I just had to re-assign my .tiff files back to Photoshop. Worked like a charm!
