Well unless you just want a prettier, fancier OS, just stick with Windows 2000.

If you just want prettier and fancier, you could always just get Litestep.

Well I don't think the performance is any better with XP. Although it does seem to run smoother (less bog-down), I wouldn't necessarily say that it's any faster.

And I haven't had it installed long enough to determine if it is any more stable. By the time the final release is here, I'm sure I'll have a definite answer for ya.

Just Microsoft succeding at taking over the world. It's like the MSN Explorer, personalized and more customizeable. No real performance improvements.

One thing I have noticed with XP is that it starts up in under 30 seconds from the time I turn it on until it's ready for me to click on the start menu.

So if you are one of those people who hates waiting 3 minutes for your computer to reboot, then XP is definitely for you.

It's the best of both worlds. Has the feel of Previous home versions, but mixes in the stability and networking features of business versions (NT & 2000)
