Hmmm, I guess this would be the right place to put this so here I go. My computer won't let me open certain sites, I just get a "The document contains no data" error. This does it for a number of sites, the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Adobe.com. I can connect to Adobe.co.uk or Adobe.de or anything, just not the .com. This is causing my Acrobat Reader to act up because it can't update. Anyone had this problem, or any suggestions on how to fix it. The sites all work fine on my dad's computer and the computer upstairs, so I don't think its the internet...

my specs:
P4 2.4GHz
512mb DDR ram
80gb hd
4.0mbps up/768 down high-speed cable

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Sounds like your browser may have been hijacked or some adware/spyware is effecting .com sites. Id run Adaware and spy bot search and destroy.

I brought this up when I had my PC. I could access many .com sites, but CNN, ESPN, Canada.com, tripod to name a few wouldn't work. espn/mlb.html would work, but barely. I couldn't find an answer to this at all. My PC is downstairs with the neighbours now and I would still love to find an answer.

My computer was also very clean. I would highly doubt that I had any sort of spyware or anything. Odd...

definitely run adaware. Also go to the windows directory and open the "host" file ( no extension.....it just says host). check if anything is wrong in there (use host.sam if you dont understand it).

Plus make sure you don't have a firewall setting that blocks certain domains, or IP blocks.

Download 'hijack this' somewhere and run that, it works like a charm.

do you have deep-scan activated in AA? Click Settings>Scanning and check it.
