Perhaps a more pertinent question would be, what do you want to use your computer for? Then we can advise on a system to suit.

- Antec Case (good cases!)
- Albatron Mobo ( px845 pev pro )
- P4 2.4ghz / 533 FSB
- 256/ddr2700 ( last item i bought....$$ money was low so i only got a little to get up and running)
- nvidia GeForce3 Ti 200 (small & cheap, but suits my graphic needs perfectly. Runs 3dmax no problem...nevermind games)
- win 98 (i love 98)
- two 6000(+)rpm thermaltake variable fans (kinda loud, but they can be adjusted and they produce massive cfm's....awesome cooling)
- 2 HDD's (both western digital)
1) 30 gigs (OS/Programs)
2) 120gigs (7200rpm 8mb cache) This I use for files only (downloads, graphics,documents non-program files/backups)

Tips:

I tend to yell about cooling alot lol. Cooling is good. The cooler the better. Be sure to atleast have good airflow through the case (negative air possibly; ie the front fan pulls in more air than the rear can blow out)

Also the newest isnt always the best. Ex: you dont need 3Ghz when you can get 2.8 for half the price.

Also get some cool blue lights (thats not really a tip huh? lol). I got a blue LED fan which lights the vents on the back/side panel of my case. Not a huge effect (no window or anything) but looks just as sexy!!

Also (again lol).....not related to a computer........but look into gel wrist pads for the mouse and keyboard. It relieves carpal tunnel. I used to have a severe case (dull ache/wrist pain every day) and the gel (or fabric..whichever.....just something to elevate your wrist so its straight) gets rid of it!!!
