Back-up Ghost software (free)

Does anyone know a good (and free) Ghost or Image software for back-up...

I just got a new 80 gb hard drive from Maxtor, witch is the same model as my main hard drive...

I plan to copy my first hard drive to my second,so in case of failure I just restore my entire system from the second hard drive.

The trick is than I wish to not only keep my data safe (as I do right now) but to have a complete image (so I wont have to reinstall windows and all my applications)...

But window wont let me copy (copy and paste) some file from the system, since they are in use...

Does anyone know a good program to do this?

you might be better off buying a raid card and mirror you drive. Raid cards don't cost that much. Maybe $40-$50 CA. or less.

last time I bought a maxtor it came with a program like that.

Yeah check the maxtor site, they have lots of utilities you can download - good call mp....

I downloaded Max Balst 3 form maxtor and it work just fine...
