CD drive crap

My CD drive is having trouble reading some CDs. It's just started recently and it seems to be limited to CDRs, but a couple real CDs don't work either. It won't even recognize that there is a disk in the drive, and when I hit the eject button it makes a funny sound before ejecting.

Ideas?

Get a new drive.. It it one of those old CD drives? They may have problems reading CDRs.

Maybe its cause of RIAA or is it Universal that set those new CDs so that you can't copy them or something.. Anyways, my Panasonic drive makes funny noises too.. really loud ones like jet planes. For now, I just use my CDRW drive.
