Problem with Photoshop and WinXP!

I have annoying problem with Photoshop. I used to have two monitors side by side but now I only use one monitor. Despite of re-installing and deleting old photoshop files from my WinXP, it still thinks that it has two monitors. Everytime I try to use Duotone or whatever, the whole thing crashes.

I'm getting really fed up with this since I can't continue my work.

Any ideas? Installing XP again is out of the question.

Delete your preference file. If you uninstalled, but didnt delete the directory, it may have remained?
