Any of you guys use a Flat Screen LCD? I got my new computer from Dell and I opted to get the 17in. Flat Panel LCD ultrasharp. You can see the info. here http://www.dell.com/us/en/dhs/learnmore/learnmore_monitors_desktops_dimen_fp.htm My question is obviously the brightness is a tad higher than my old HP 17in. CRT and this does not seem to have any contrast options (I'm guessing LCD's have built in contrast ratios) so what do you guys do? Lower the brightness a tad or just leave it and remember when you design that it will be a tad darker than it appears? Or am I missing something? Another thing I noticed. Fonts, overall appearance, etc. does not compare to when I have it set at 1280x1024. Everything is nice and crisp at that size. Lower res's make the fonts look over antialiased and overall everything looks "bulky". Also I'm using the DVI input/output instead of the standard one. Is there any real difference you have noticed? Ok, I'm still trying to figure this thing out so bear with me  |

Yeah turning that on is one of the first things I did ;) Thanks. Maybe it just takes some getting used to... |

And keep the display set to its native resolution. Personally, I've yet to see an LCD monitor I'd buy. I'm in the market, and I'll be buying 2- 19" LaCie ElectronBlue CRTs. Of course, that means I'll need to also build a new desk to accomodate them. But I've been wanting to do that anyway. |

Ok, problem solved I think. I have a radeon 9800 gfx card. I'm using the DVI for my LCD flatscreen so I just plugged in my spare 17in. for a dual monitor setup ;) Just holler if that is not a good thing to do! From what I checked up on it should be fine. One DVI one VGA no problem. But if you know something I don't please let me know... |

I've had it like that for about 4 months. No problems at all. Except, I used a 17" CRT and a 15" CRT. |

I like my CRT better than MOST LCD's because I get a crisp and bright image from it. With very pure colors too. ^.^ Also, I have been runing at 1280x1024 since I got this monitor and I will never go smaller than that ever ever ever again. I want to go bigger as a matter of fact. ^.^
